The 2.5 Dimensional Seduction anime is set to premiere in 2024, as announced with a new preview and trailer. JC Staff animated the series under the direction of Hideki Okamoto.
The main cast has also been announced and includes Junya Enoki as Masamune Okumura, Kaori Maeda as Lilisa Amano, and Akari Kito as Mikari Tachibana. Takao Yoshioka does the series composition, Tomoyuki Shitaya the character designs, and Hiroaki Tsutsumi the music.
The 2.5 Dimensional Seduction anime was announced in December 2022. It is based on a manga series by Yu Hashimoto that has been serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ manga service since June 2019. The manga has a total of 16 volumes and has exceeded 1.7 million copies in circulation.
Seven seas licensed the manga in English, describing the plot as:
A hot-blooded romantic cosplay comedy begins when an otaku meets a girl who dresses up as his favorite manga character. This sexy manga series is recommended by Eiichiro Oda (creator of One Piece)!
“I’m not interested in real girls!” So claims Okumura, the president of the school manga club. He is your typical otaku obsessed with a sexy (fictional) 2D manga character known as Liliel. Then the new school year starts and a (real!) 3D girl named Lilisa, whose passion is cosplay, joins the club. Lilisa convinces Okumura to be her photographer – and guess who her favorite manga character is? Not only that, but Lilissa is modeling fetish stuff! The lines between 2D and 3D begin to blur as this hot-blooded romantic comedy unfolds.
